Three Year Surrogacy Journey Delivers Twins

New fathers George Arison and Dr. Robert Luo welcomed their twins Luka Arison Luo and Emilia Arison Luo after a long wait and amazing circumstances. The sibling twins arrived in the world nine days and more than 300 miles apart earlier this month. The babies, who share the same biological mother, were birthed by two different surrogate women and share two dads who spent nearly three years bringing them into the world.

The couple knew they wanted their children to be related to each other and were hopeful they could each have a genetic link to the children also and they decided to look into surrogacy.

They chose their egg donor and fertilized one egg with Arison’s sperm and one with Luo’s sperm. Then they began the months-long search for two surrogates. After they found the surrogates, the next step was the embryo transfers in each woman and amazingly both were successful on transfer day. Luo and Arison spent the next nine months looking after their two pregnancies.

When the surrogate carrying Luka went into labor earlier this month, both Luo and Arison were there for the delivery and as they celebrated the birth of their first child, got word the surrogate carrying Emilia was having contractions, who gave birth nine days later.
